I have been interested in art and the creative process all my life, and as I grew I found myself searching out opportunities and occupations where I could express myself and grow creatively. I work from my home studio in Fairfax, Virginia. I hope you enjoy my work. Please send me a note - I love hearing from visitors!

About My Work:
I strive for my paintings to make an emotional connection with the viewer, believing that's what defines a successful piece.

I work primarily in oils. I enjoy the richness and viscosity of the paint, sometimes building up thin, delicate transparent layers of color, and other times working in an impressionistic impasto style of thick paint, often applied with a palette knife or other tool. It just depends on the subject or my mood.

I live in the Mid-Atlantic region with my husband, two kids and our Portuguese Water Dog.  I am inspired by nature - the beauty of a single flower or a burst of color from a stand of fall trees. Much of my work can be defined as minimalist -  a snapshot of a simple still life or an atmospheric landscape. In a hustle and bustle world, I like to capture the fleeting beauty of what is often overlooked.
